I already made a tutorial for this trick a few years ago as my first tutorial. I really wanted to redo this because it's a great trick.
Vimeo will be available within a few weeks unless someone wants to give me 60 dollars haha.

Not sure why it's called that or who named it, but that is the official name for it AFAIK.

I think Sky Kiyabu was the one who created and named the trick, but I could be wrong.
Nice tutorial as always, Gerard.

Isn't this also known as Flying GT? The ninja vanish makes no sense to me.
Hah, funny how yoyo tricks have so many different names.

If you can't get it with one finger, try using all four (because you don't really use your thumb :P), and work on that until you can use three, then two, then eventually one. That's how I learned it, using Gerad's older tutorial of course

Sorry, I don't mean to be a necromancer, but I have watched this thing so many times and still cant get it.

What happens is i hold my yoyo string wrist up like GRAWRD says, then turn my hand quickly. No loop forms, the string just goes around the yo-yo, and i end up where i started except with my wrist pointed down. maybe im just dumb

Imagine the slack in the string following the motion your hand makes as you turn your wrist. It needs to follow in a nice, smooth, circular path to form the loop. Focus especially on the point where you are gripping the string. It starts up slightly to bring the yoyo up toward your hand, and then arcs back down and around as you turn your wrist over so the slack will follow in a nice loop.
The timing of this trick is more important than how quickly you do it, so try to focus on whether you are starting your motion to early or too late for the loop to form properly, or if you are popping the yoyo up first and then trying to quickly turn your wrist rather than doing it all in one smooth motion, and then make adjustments for your next attempt. It takes a while to get the timing figured out, so you'll probably just have to keep practicing and making adjustments until you start to get a good loop formed. It also helps to use more fingers to hold the string in your fist like Isaac suggested. Also make sure your string tension is neutral or the loop can twist up and not form properly even if you are doing the trick right.
