So today at BAC/Triple Crown, after checking out the YYJ, Duncan and YoYoExpert.com tables, I came across this lone table in the back showcasing metals for 20 - 40. I headed over there and came across a $30 metal with no name marked on it...it's blue and black acid wash and came dead unresponsive. First I thought that maybe this is a bootleg Aoda-like yo-yo. After just prior to leaving the event for the day, I noticed a name: Recreational Revolution.
During the time, I'm trying out this yo and am finding it amazingly smooth, silky smooth grinds and extremely stable. I could probably sleep this for over 2 minutes if I tried. I felt like I was playing at a whole new level as much as I was still doing my same tricks I already know (Ok, I finally landed Cold Fusion on this as well as Kwyjibo).
When I got home I decided to google the company and didn't find much on their site. First I found that what I picked up was a RecRev No. 9. I found on a certain yoyo store that these throws were selling for over $60...now I feel even more stoked that I got a high end throw for a budget price. I did notice however that yoyo retailers now have these out of stock. Is RecRev still in business/is this model still in production? I'm kind of curious whether this low price point I got was a great deal or if it was because of possibly being discontinued...either way, it's an excellent throw!

Rec rev is a small company owned by a guy named Alex. He's a cool guy, we usually talk at the local meetups down here. I think he's working on new designs right now and that the number 9 won't be seeing any future production because he wants to change his designs a bit.

Yes, Recrev's are generally good players. Alex had some fits and starts early on, but he seems to have gotten things worked out as far as the business side goes.

Sweet, after posting this topic and doing some more research, I found out that Alex (that you mention) is the guy I saw earlier selling these yo-yos. He did seem pretty cool. Now I feel good for supporting a small company, definitely has some great and beautiful throws! I was almost going to get an Electric Daisy as it had a concave bearing. I'm happy with my No. 9 though, lots of rim weight and very stable.

I have an Electric Daisy, which I have been very happy with. Rec Rev is definitely a company to keep your eyes on
