I grabbed this the other day because I was curious.. how good can a $30 machine made be compared to the hand-finish-$100+ beauties I'm used to using ?
Inside we see rubber rings which are very-almost recessed, a bearing seat which bares a striking resembelence to an SPR. The bearing is smaller than a C, and bigger than a D. Its a bit undersized too, so for the price (and it comes in a raw silver) it might be the carry yo your looking for.
Nicely bead blasted too, and the no-fuss logo's is about it.
Rather than tinkering I played with it as is out of the box.. I suspect the target audience isnt about to start trying silicon recesses and clean bearings in these. So here's my quick impressions..
OK, its not super smooth.. but its better than plastic. I've got a bingled up YYF G5 which vibes about the same.
Playing on the string its quite fun. It pops around and lands with good accuracy, for that fact alone I enjoy playing with.
Grinds ? I dont know. Out of the box its tug responsive so that left grinding out. With the anodising and blasting, I think it will grind well. once you clean the bearing and change the response.
So should you get one ? Maybe. If youre after something to carry, or just have $30 to waste and see one, get it.

for me ive got a fhz, MFHZ and a maverick and i can say the maverick is VERY good for its price, it kills the mfhz but i think the fhz JUST JUST beats it and take in mind that my fhz has been modded by skip (pad recess filled with sili) but for its price, maker and material its sure win and its Smootthh i would totaly get this over a MFHZ.

Wish I could man, but I've never been able to find anything other than the Ducan Butterfly in these here parts.
But I dont think the comparison would be favourable for the Maverick, the Metal FH has a taller profile and is a bit wider too with some extra weight to boot. So I'd think the metal FH would be the better yo all around, whilst the Maverick makes a nice pocket yo due to its small size.
If you leave the bearing greasy it's also a good "Can I Have A Go Please ?" yo cos its tug responsive.
Speaking of which, clean bearings make this thing play pretty awesome. Throw in some 100% poly (orange of cource) and it's a lot of fun :)The Lazy Mans Signature (tm)

I have used the maverick now and the response is kind of coming of so I siliconed it now. And it is a lot better. Try siliconing it and then compare it to a pad or silicone recessed FHZ.
