Here is another one from the assembly line of Yoyofactory...the California! The shape of this yoyo is based off of the highly successful 401k, but without the dials and shuttles. The 401k had a reputation for being heavy and sluggish, but does the California share the same traits? Read on and find out!

The appearance of the California is of a very attractive yoyo. The medium blue color and the lazer engravings of "California" present a very calm mood. The California sports a beadblasted finish, but because of the risk for strings snapping because of the finish, it does not extend all the way into the gap. A very neat feature that will surely be very useful.

Again, the shape is based off of the 401k yoyo; which is a very great thing! I personally love this shape and it is great to see another yoyo share it. It feels very nice in the hand when throwing 5A and 1A, and is very comfortable to catch after hard throws.

The guts of the California are fairly straightforward; silicone response for unresponsive play, a large bearing, and a bearing seat that snaps into place. While simple, it provides unmatched unresponsive and smooth play. Anyone that has used a yoyo with this system will agree.

While in play, the California feels nothing like the 401k. It is fairly quick and very solid, and spins for a very long time. It has minimal to no vibration and the hubstacks are a nice feature for pullstarts and sideways tricks. If you are a 401k fan, you will love this yoyo!

Compared to most recent yoyos, the California may appear to be fairly large; about the same size as FHZ. I personally love this size, it makes it very easy to hit strings during 1A and 5A play.

Like I said before, if you loved the 401k this is a no brainer. Anyone who likes larger and (heavier? 68 grams) yoyos will love this yoyo. It has all the features you would want for a solid and reliable player.

Yet again, another success from Yoyofactory.
Thanks for the yoyo Ben, you are the best. :]

It really doesn't play anything like the 401k. I personally like it much much better.

    Great job YYF.
