I know there has been one already posted, but I feel I could write a few extra things that would help better describe this yoyo. I think this giude will really help people understand if this yoyo is really what they want.
*PICTURES WILL COME TOMORROW, INCLUDING COMPARISON PICTURES, SINGLE PICS, PICTURES OF THE BOX, AND THE GUTS.*
Box/Appearence: 9/10
Details:
The box this yoyo came in was very nice, and somewhat classy. It came in a wooden box with a paper wrapping around it with the hicoo logo and all the other stuff. In the box was foam cut to hold the khan, and under the kahn was a string, 4 extra pads (some wierd pads, pretty nice though) and the khan caps. The yoyo's appearence is amazing, very beautiful. The green has some glitter under the coating it appears, and it's somewhat glossy. The glitter really shines under light, specificly sunlight. The only thing that makes the appearence not get a 10/10 is that the lazer engravings tend to be a tiny bit sloppy on one side. Where it says (name of other store).com, some of the letters are filled in with the lazer engraving (they aren't supposed to be) and the lazer seemed to go off on the other direction a little bit. Looks like a little kid didn't color completely in the lines, but it's not too terrible, and nothing that really upsets me.
1st Impression: 8.5/10
Details:
This yoyo was very neat using for the first time. The weight was different, for a minature yoyo that is. Seemed to be a bit lighter. I like putting the caps in the make it a bit heavier and somewhat more enjoyable. I used a white poly string on it (this is the stock setup) and it was somewhat responsive. I looked inside and it had these thick grippy pads, but that wasn't the problem. I flicked the bearing and it barely moved, obviously the bearing was lubed. I cleaned it (because thats the kind of guy I am, breaking in bearings is for squares :P) and it played so much better, but those pads were just to grippy. I just ripped one out and continued. The response was quite nice here, but it still needed something. I put in a thin dif pad and there was a noticeable difference. Binds were tighter while still maintaining low response. After a few hours the stock pad fell out, so I replaced it with a thick dif, which plays pretty much the same. This yoyo is very different.
Play: 8.7/10
Details:
If I really had to rate the play, I would give it a 7-8. Why 8.7? Well, it plays nice, thats for sure. It's smooth, but not up to SPYY smooth. Almost. The thing I really like about it is, if you don't throw straight it will lose spin faster, meaning you have to play well and concentrate to keep this thing going. Like mgodinez said 'sloppy play just won't cut it' and he's right. The thing I like about that is, it really helps with smoothness-something I really need to work on. The small size and play it has really help with smoothness, It's perfect to practice with. Plus, a small compact size to take wherever in your pocket, without weighing them down (oh come on you know it's happened).
Grinds: 5/10
Details:
Not much I can say about this, the grinds just aren't too great because of the coating. They work, thats for sure, but they just won't last as long as grinds with most other coated yoyos. This may be because the khan is powdercoated instead of annodized/beadblast/satined. Thumb grinds are pretty good though, which is what raises the points on it. It has a really deep lip, like a pyro, and the hub won't get in the way.
Shape/Size/Weight: 9.5/10
Details:
This yoyo has a really nice shape to it, fits very nice in hand. The size is also really neat-it's a bit bigger than an Eli Dert, but smaller than a mini motu. It is a minature yoyo for all who haven't picked that up so far. The weight is also pretty good. It tends to be a bit lighter than most minature yoyos, but putting the caps in it help a bit. I really like the weight with the caps in it. A neat yoyo all around!
Affordability (Should I buy this?!): Depends
Details:
This is all preference. The yoyo itself is very beautiful, but the play just doesn't live up to the price, IMHO. But, the play is very nice for smoothening out your style. I do like that. SO, if your looking for a smaller yoyo, with amazing looks-and will help smoothen your style, then I reccomend buying it. Your money would be well spent. If you rather use a responsive yoyo to help smoothen your style and don't feel the need to spend this amount of money, then by all means don't bother with it. You won't be satisfied.
Overall: 8.9/10
Details:
A very nice yoyo indeed, but all preference. SO for me, I might give it an 8.9/10, someone else could give it a 2/10-all preference. As noted above, there are different things that will decide if you would like this yoyo or not, but once you start getting used to it and your tricks get smoother, you realize that it really is a solid, well playing yoyo.
Thanks for taking the time out reading my review, I hope it helped you make a decision for your yoyo needs! =)
