difeo sportster vs tom kuhn tom cat
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
to say that these are good yoyos is an understatement-both are great!
both yos play very well and the balance on both are top notch, the kuhn is lighter with an adjustable gap while the sportster is a fixed gap with larger bearing.both use a friction sticker type response with the tom cat being the more grabby of the two on this occasion.
performance wise the sportster was flawless in its paces,it handled whatever tricks and combos i threw at it with with precision and kept its balance well throughout.
the kuhn i found to be more of a challenge and required more skill on my part to keep the yo balanced.in fact i think it magnified my inaccuracies while the difeo compensated for them.its lighter weight may have something to do with it since the rims on the kuhn are skinnier than the more solid difeo.
an interesting side effect which i liked about the tom cat is that its somewhat a noiser yoyo.as the string hits and leaves the sides of the yo it makes it chime, kinda like a small bell, the sportster came without a sound system-just the hum of the high performance konkave bearing.
all things considered the sportster is a better yo for performance, price, and availabilty and wins this round hands down.
however with a second tom cat on its way.... one of the two cats is going in my everyday player box to train for the rematch! T 1313
