well, here's my progess on the YoYoDojo...
I got my compound cross slide, so I was finally able to make clean angles on the yoyo.
It wobbles a little, but not bad considering its the first one I've made with this axle system.
Basically, I got a set screw and used the hex slot to center the drill bit in it, and drilled through, then tapped the inside of the hole. Then I tapped the yoyo, and screwed the set screw in, then screwed the yoyo together.
Big shout out to Landon for helping me out with the axle system...
Sorry about the second picture, my hands are kinda shaky....

I see them.
Looks pretty cash man. I'd say give it a quick rub and polish, and you have a pretty clutch yoyo.
Stop worrying about what yoyo you should be playing, and just play yoyo. (pssst I am not Landon)

I dont see them either. Maybe it's because we're mods?

I can see the pictures.
Looks good. I agree with Uberfish that it could use some polishing up, though. Congrats on making your own yoyo, and good luck with your future yoyos.

Reality check here...
Not dissing him at all, but he just started doing this about a month ago or so. He's a novice at the lathe and a newbie one-off yoyo designer. Give it some time before you start the "I'll buy one" line.
He deserves credit for taking the leap into this.

JHB's comment didn't hurt my feelings in the slightest; I understood what he was saying.
Let's drop it.

dude- raunchy photos!!! Looking really hot. I think I see some calipers & a mag base dial indicator too???? Tools for making good yoyos that's for sure =P
Now, you gotta explain your axle more- it looks like you drilled through the set screws, & tapped them? Seeing as the buzz-on SPRs don't have a .250" hole in them, haha.
If you could- post pictures of the countersink made in the yoyo, to hold the spacers. I want to see how you're doing things there.
All in all looks really good! I should post pictures of my first yoyos hahaha- they'd make your stuff look god like... i sucked it up for a WHILE LOL!3yo3 yoyos

You are seeing the socket head of the set screw Landon. He basically made them just like you do yours.

The countersink is actually one of the areas I'm changing. Before, I just put in a countersink with a flat bottom the entire way through, but now I think I'm going to do away with that and just make a small hole for the nub on the SPR and have the spr sit flat, with no recess, on top of the yoyo. I'm going to take some more pics later today with some of my newer stuff, and i think that will help explain.
You're correct with the axle system. I drilled out the set screw, then tapped that hole at 8-32. Then, I tapped a hole in the yoyo to 1/4-20, to match the set screw. Then i got the axle, which is 8-32, and screwed that into the set screw, then screwed the set screw into the yoyo half.
Thanks a bunch Landon, it really means a lot to me coming from you.

I didn't notice what you were talking about till I looked at the pic with the spr's in it. Then I noticed the setscrew looked weird where it met the spr. lol

Ah ok sweet- Ya when you do your next counter sink- if you get the tolerance REALLY close on the counter sunk hole, actually go about .001" or .002" smaller than the diameter of the raised section on the SPR that goes in, you'll find that you'll have quite minimal vibe. That's how I've been doing my spacers in bearing modded wheels as well as when putting them into the Omnicrons/Collabricons.
Anyway man keep it up you're definitely kicking ass!! Again- write me if you have any ?'s
POst up them pics ASAP3yo3 yoyos

I still don't have calipers, the ole "skip-squint-o-meter" works hehe.
Look forward to seeing what you put out man! Ive done a few mods and things since I've posted them last but nothing super amazing yet.JYC Founder and Werrd Alliance Member
