Finally I finished my "summer project". =]
The earliest pic I have of it is:
Evolving... Here I am getting ready to cut holes with a 2.25 in holesaw. The bigger holes I cut with a soup can... but they came out too big. They did come out super clean, but it took probably an hour.
Well... whatever... let's skip... I just cut the holes, ok? Then put a piece of cardboard on the back, then just the lid...

w00t. Velcro's awesome. ^_^
I plan on putting some art on the inside of the lid too. I hope to get some other artistic yo-yoers to scribble on it too! =]
After cutting the holes with the holesaw, I took out the dremel and made it look even more ghetto, with some finger tab-things.
Dang... this one didn't turn out so well.
I even made a hole for a cw.

Er... not really.=D See that empty space? That's why I NEED some stickers!
Remember talking about this in the chat a loooong time ago, Isaac? =]
It is actually is really sturdy, and light. I just try not to get it wet. =]

Nice job man, very original. Nice execution too. I particularly enjoyed the separate cutout for the CW. Nice touch!

Looks awesome. It reminds me of when I made portfolios for my art classes out of cardboard boxes in the recycling center behind the dorm, except this is way more elaborate, sturdy, and cool. How well does the latch system hold?

Thanks all!
As you can see the flaps don't fold down 100% but I did buy the "premium" velcro, so it is extremely strong. I think it's the super glue brand of velcro. =] I've had no problem with it opening by accident at all. I'm kinda unsure about it last though... I may enforce the inside of the flaps with duct tape though.
On the contrary, I could knock someone unconscious with this thing and the yo-yos would still be perfectly protected. =]
Thanks again guys.. your comments really make me feel special.

Good idea! You might be able to clear coat it with something, maybe decoupage or whatever that stuff is.
There are tons of different kinds of cardboard, some of it very very strong.looks weak, but thats a idea thats totally original!
rare earth metal magnets might be a good replacement for the velcro, if you ever have problems with it.I used to think that the brain was the most wonderful organ in my body. Then I realized who was telling me this. - Emo Philips
