Thread: weird paint job.

well, here's a weird paint job I did. it looks a lot like the black annoed MG.
It's just auto paint.
I was gonna topcoat it, but I wanted it to still be slightly matte.
I didn't paint the middle because I'm not good enough to do it evenly.
I barely did the inside without totally screwing up.
and I'll have better pics tomorrow, when the suns' out.

That does look quite MG'ish from the first pic. Congrats on a job most excellently done!

Shame paint doesn't stand up too well to the stresses of regular use.

If done correctly with the right type of paint, it'll hold up as well as anything else. In most cases, it's more durable and performs better than powdercoating. Plus it doesnt fade like some ano's do.

I've painted several yoyo's on the outside that hold up just fine under regular use.

eh, I highly doubt I did it well.
I'm not even sure the primer I used was for alu.
but I did mask it.
plus, I almost never hit my yoyos on the ground, (this is my most used tank) and so I think it should be able to hold up well for me.

I really like it but i want to see it when it will be finished :)

haha. it is finished.
I'm not confident enough w/ painting stuff that I think I'll be able to paint the inside without filling the engravings.

That looks very nice. I would love to see the paint go around the rim on the outside, but still Its an overall nice look.

it plays a little bit better, too, because the paint has a satin, so when it hits your hand, the spin doesn't die.

I think it kinda looks like a nightmoves.

It's got a cool look to it, and its super cool when people do things like this to yoyo's so they don't look like everyone elses DIF this one is custom, and special to you.

maybe that's why I liked it so much.

and shadow, I still have 3 more tanks to unique-ify. got any ideas? I have yet to think of anything that I'd like, so I'm open to suggestions, and if i hear something that sounds do-able and cool, I'll go for it.

Different color auto paint? :P
