How does it play?!?!?!
I see no thumb grind ring (of course I brought that up)...
Interesting bearing seat... what size is it?

I reckon it's cheaper when you don't have to make any inside cuts, that you couldn't make straight in from the outside or beyond a certain angle. I dunno...

I'd be willing to bet it was to save weight. Ti while light is not that light and a ring would add some serious rim weight that probably would have made the yoyo play not as well.

I just got to play one for lunch today.
It plays very well.
The shape reminds me of a Pyro in my hand.
It has a very solid feel, while static and while spinning.
It uses a Duncan sized bearing and has little aluminum inserts that create the bearing ... saddle.
The design doesn't look like it has a particular amount of rim weight, but it doesn't seem to suffer much for it.
But it did seem to loose stability at low speeds ... compared to... say a G&E or Pyro.
The lack of thumb ring was entertaining.
I was able to T-Grind if I ran across the room at the same time....
I should have taken video.
Also, as its owner pointed out,if you hold one end and flick the other, you get a nice long clean note... like a high tuning fork.
It's very cool.

does it use the same bearin' as the phi 1.618?...the 'no need for lube' bearin'?But it did seem to loose stability at low speeds ... compared to... say a G&E or Pyro.
'cause i noticed that it takes a little while to break this bearin' in. but once it has all the cobwebs spun off it, spin times are very good...and the yo seems more stable at low/high speeds.

Oh... the bearing seems fine...spins like crazy!
Smooth too.
When it unwinds and in a snap, settles into a good spin, lookout... it's awsome.
No bearing trouble at all.
Its a duncan 'medium' sized bearing.
I meant that when it got slow, it wasn't as stable as a G&E...
It might be a rim weight thing.
Often I milk a combo or session for the last possible seconds of playt before binding.
This yoyo seemed more sensative to mistakes or sloppiness.
Aint no big thang.. just something I noticed... and it could be me.

If I am not mistaken I think the TiPhiter uses a Dorothy bearing, at least that's what it looks like.
