ive been looking at a new yoing fronteir. the double helix. the general idea is that the yo-yo has 3 bearings and 2 strings. both strings are attached to counterweights. the 3 bearings are lined up on the axcel and the strings can slide between so that you can get all of the regular tricks out of the yo-yo by sliding both strings to the center. the new tricks that this new design can do can be done by silding the strings to the sides. the counterweights are there so that you can put both in one hand, one in both hands or any other conbination you want (mouth anybody)
im asking forbecause I dont know what bearings to use or how to make the body or where to find a long enough axcels to fit all that.
im also asking if you see any problems in my design.

Do you have a sketch? I'm having a hard time visualizing this.

I think he's talking about a reverse hydra style, 3 bearings would be too wide even if you're using b bearings, and you'll also have trouble with the center bearing staying in place unless you've made a special bearing seat and even then the gap would be way too wide. not to mention the strings would have to be drastically shorter than the normal string, unless one of the counter weights are meant to be on the ground. I'm sorry to knock your idea off so quickly but there are even more ways this idea could go wrong, not saying it's impossible just really hard to execute. But hey, if you get a working prototype and get it to be playing well enough that it might even get a production line then props to ya.

With that large a gap and bearings you're just not going to get any spin from a throw.
You need friction to spin up the yo-yo.
If you succeed in destroying someone's deeply entrenched beliefs using facts and logic, that person won't change his mind but will hate your guts forever.

Yep. That would be unbindable. But I bet there's some sort of martial art that could be done with that.
At least 15% of what I say is true.

yeah i know
thats the main design problem.
the gap in the drawing is exagerated.
I still cant find bearings that are small enough.
doses any body know where i could find this bearing?

I'm surprised Uberfish hasn't said anything yet, I mean he stole this idea from me a while ago. New form of yoyoing?

I say you go for a normal yoyo. Use one counterweight and one string attached to your hand so you could do a trick like an arial and catch it on the other string. You could call it 4 1/2A. Or go crazy and do 4A w/ a counterweight. Now that would be cool!

I don't think the middle bearing would spin.
It would be stuck because it touches the other two bearings.Theyo.com: The Final Frontier. To boldly troll where no troll has trolled before...

Since we are on the topic of new yoyo styles I've got another good one. 3A 5A style. What I mean by this is 3A with counterweights.

Jake Bullock has done some counterweight 3A. Here are a couple of his videos if you want to see some ideas for things to try in that style:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KDpHCpSyXH4 (this one is dark and kind of hard to see, but it's all counterweight 3A)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fmKKO5_95B0 (this one has better lighting, but only a few counterweight 3A tricks mixed in with other styles)
I'm sure other people have messed with it as well, but Jake's stuff is what comes to mind for me.
RIP YoMike
