Thread: Bearingized Proyo GT and added weight to worlds Russell

Since this thing was played a lots, the original wooden axles have become too smooth so it felt like it had no response. My old HWW got the Duncan guts last summer, so I had it's guts for this. Convenient thing about HWW spacers it that they have a lip between the bearing and the response. It fitted perfectly. It was siliconed then obviously.
I guess you could do this to a Profly, because it looks like a same thing.

It plays like dream now (responsive dream that is). There's something about wide silicone response that i really dig. I wish more yoyos were designed this way.

Now I had no fixed wooden axle yoyo to play with so I found this Russell (worlds 2007) that had no caps... I broke one of it's caps trying to remove them It's the one on top of the pic...

I already used this caps on Saber Wing, unfortunately that yoyo didn't withstand that much weight. I hope this one does. This caps are from some cheapo auto return yoyo. The added weight are my old bass strings- superglued. The other side of the caps is colored with orange and clear (with stars) nail polish... see below

Yoyo shell: I glued this star since caps have a hole on them This ring thing is a foam found in a 50 empty CDs package. It's use? the caps weren't a perfect fit, so this is for letting the caps get in the shell equally, with no disturbing on balance.

I connected (read: glued) the caps and shell with more nail polish. I know this is not the best idea, but I didn't wanted it to look like inside of caps because of the glue-plastic reaction.
This thing plays alright. Little heavy for a fixed axle, but satisfactorily
