This has been brewing in my head for some time, sort of. I originally planned to do a satin job with the ubuntu logo. But then I found that the heads on the ubuntu logo wouldn't fit well on the TFL. I removed them from the design only to be left with a silly looking design. That design did make me thing of the radiation symbol. It's quite fitting after getting an x-ray today. Without further ado I present to you the Fallout TFL.

did you just put tape where you didn't want it satined and spin it on a drill?

polish->mask->media blast(some very fine grained abrasive or beads)?
or
polish->mask->chemical wash(acid or the like)?

Mask -> heat to 933 K -> dip softened aluminum in sand -> let cool with sand embedded in aluminum walls -> brush off sand to leave textured surface, remove mask?
Looks good. Nice job on lining up the patterns on each half as well.
