Thread: Hubstack kit

Does any one know if the FH hubstack kit will fit in my Tigershark??

I believe the diameter of the nuts the FHZ uses is a bit smaller than the ones Spintastics uses, and the width of the bolt is a bit wider than the screws on the Spintastics axles, but the FHZ nut/bolt axle do fit if you take the stock parts out. So the parts should all fit, but you might run into some problems.

I am not sure if the bearing needs to sit on the center part of the axle or if the spacers will hold it ok without the stock axle, so that could be a problem you run into. It could also be difficult to screw the yoyo together or apart because the axle posts that grip the stock axle nuts won't grip FHZ sized nuts (because they are too small), and the half will just spin freely without turning the axle nut with it. If you have bearings on the posts, this will also mean you have nothing to grip on the nut itself either, so taking the yoyo apart could become a major chore even if it works. You might have to cut the axle down to get it to word because FHZs are designed with a significantly longer axle than Tigersharks. There's also the chance it could cause unplayable wobble.

Hopefully someone else will have tried it and be able to give you a more specific answer, but without further confirmation, it's the sort of thing that I wouldn't buy a new kit specifically to try because of the potential issues, but you might as well if you have one already. If you really want to try it, the parts should at least all fit onto the yoyo to try, assuming they are pretty much the same size as stock FHZ parts.
