Nice results! Delrin dye jobs are hit or miss, and it looks like you've got the knack for pulling it off well. Good job!

NO ACETONE!
- Dye mix in a microwave-safe dish
- Yoyo half in the mix/dish
- Microwave for 10-20 seconds at a time (maybe longer?) until the color grabs enough for the desired color
That's the gist of it. I dont have much experience with this method, but have messed around with it a little and have read about others doing it the same way. I'm probably off on the time that you should microwave it too.
Use extra caution if the yoyo you're dyeing has any metal inserts for threading and such. That could melt your yoyo or fry your microwave. I also wouldnt do this much in a microwave that you use for food unless you dont mind a little RIT dye possibly being flavored in to your Hot Pockets/Ramen/Reheated Pizza.

And don't let the yo sit on the bottom of the container! You'll get discoloration. (darker spots) I put it together withough any goodies in it and tie a string on the axle tied to a stick. pre-measure the distance before you add the dye.

If you have ever put a spoon in a microwave, you'd know it doesn't spark.
But if you put a fork, it does.
Electricity has no where to jump.
It still can catch on fire. That is why Luke suggested 10 seconds.

Right you are, Jeffrey. Alternatively, you could probably get away with an initial heating of the dye mix without the yoyo in it (say a minute maybe?) and then 10 second intervals with the yoyo submerged just to keep the mix hot until it gets to the right shade.
And good call on not resting the yoyo on the bottom of the container, icthus. I always forget stuff!

Thats really awesome! But shouldn't this be in the showcase section? Meh I don't care. 20 minutes huh? Damn son.

Stop worrying about what yoyo you should be playing, and just play yoyo. (pssst I am not Landon)

Yes but you will need an alternate way of keeping the fluid very hot. Some people use boiling water and then setting their container in that but the Microwave is too easy to not use.
