First the modder drills out the old threads. Then he/she cuts threads for a slightly bigger axle.

If you are talking about rethreading your bape, I *think* it would not be possible.
Because of the nature of the axle system (The axle supports the bearing), you cannot make the axle any bigger.

Oh, Wait! There is anouther way. You drill out the old threads and put a peice of metal in. You then cut new threads into THAT.

Do you need to make the threading tighter? At home depot I got some blue past stuff that's meant for metal threading. I put some in and screwed the yoyo together and held it there for a minute then unscrewed it and let it dry. Now it thereads tight and doesn't slip.
i suppose you could use Teflon tape too...

you could use a heli-coil, but the setup for that can be a little spendy...especially for just one yoyo...contact Frank or Rob Tsou...they have the setup for it already so it wouldnt cost alot...

heli-coil is the way to go though...much more reliable and stronger than retapping...
