    With the taper type, you just need a drawbar to hold the arbor in.. which is fine, since you also need one to hold the yoyo into it.

    It will work, but the screw on type is in theory a stronger method. Just make sure you are careful with the setup, even a bit of dust can screw up your alignment with a taper..
    and of course make sure it's the proper taper for you lathe.

    When you get the blank jaws, how do you cut them to fit the yoyo you're working on?

    You tighten the jaws down on a washer and then you bore them out with the boring bar to whatever shape and diameter you want.
