Well after several questions lately on how to do this, in addition to the fact that the other bearing video is now gone, I decided to make another one...nothing special or groundbreaking here...this is the first time I've ever edited a video, so the editing and quality arent great, but I think it'll be good enough to hopefully help some people out...

Original version - 20mb - Right click, Save as

(The above link is dead - jhb8426)

    and...

Youtube version - for those who dont want to download a 20mb file

    questions, comments, suggestions?

    Eventually it'll rust up.

Because it's made of a ferric metal and all ferric metals rust. Oil protects steel from rusting.

the out of focus thing was caused by several things...crappy-ish camera, several conversions/compressions, and an overall crappy cameraman (me)...I had the camera on a tripod in front of me and didnt pay much attention to if it was in focus or not because I was just watching my hands

I would have reshot it, but I was learning as I went along on how to make a video and had already spent way more time than I had expected to on it...there's alot I had hoped would have turned out better, so I may end up reshooting and changing a little bit of it...

and please add this to your guide...I'd be honored

stainless is only less likely to rust than chrome steel, but it can and eventually will rust...I dont normally lube my bearings because I like to hear them scream...the louder the better for me...bearings are cheap enough that I dont mind taking the chance of them rusting...run them dry if you want, just be aware of the risk involved...

and thanks for the comments everyone...very much appreciated...

The bearing balls may be stainless but the race (the part that holds the balls together) usually isn't. If your race rusts, you're screwed.
