Hi, i recently got a maelstrom and i love it, but i played with it for like 2 hours strait and the top layer of the friction sticker( i think its like wax) has worn off. Is that normal? and if it is, is there any yo-yos like the maelstrom but dont use Friction stickers or anything i have to replace constantly? thanks.

this is normal. duncan friction stickers do not last long. i had a fh2 sticker last me 20 minutes. i would recommend thick dif pads, (they are a lil pricey, $1 a sticker) but they last about a month. or, u could send ur yo to a modder like buzz jr and get it o-ringed using yyj orings, this works nice.
i hope i helped some!

this is normal the layer is supposed to come off and that is not when you throw them away you do that when they become unresponsive.

i said thick because it apears he wants response, so, yah, imo the thin ones last longer, average life is about a couple months, so, u should be fine.

Some of my Alum Jams have dark spots. Where is my polish at?
I had a bad case of rubber elbow and took a break to let it heal. Hoping it holds up or else its surgery, Ouch. I don't want more of that. Was looking around the interwebs and saw one place is Out of Business. WOW.. Is it that dead right now? Also saw the duncan Alum's, NICE. Ordered a Alum FH. Gonna see how it plays.

I heard the First ones striped out axles and was a bit to lite. Also the paint chipped off the side pretty quickly too. Ill see how the second Gen's are. If it need more grams, Ill ad some Rubber rings to the edge like a Dif-e. Or Ill get the lathe out and do something with it..:O Hoping anyway.

Well kinda. Still have these 4 wheels stuck to my ass and a Joystick. But other then that doing ok. Hangin in there tho. I started moving into a new house and my box of toys were out. So you know I had to throw them! And now I cant stop. Selling my one house to go to another cause I have two kids now and need the extra bed room. So Im getting a WHOLE room just for me. Sweet, I can setup my lathe, hang up my Yo wall racks again. Its sweet.
