My mods were/are/and never will be great. So far, I have two major mods under my belt. Bear in mind that Mine are very crude because we don't have a dremel to make things all purdy. Anyway, they are probably the two simplier mods and are nothing to brag about.

The first is a profly that has been bearingized. This one took me a while but it plays quite nicely. I think this mod is commonlt done by the PBS guys. I drilled the axle with a drill bit. I had no power drill so I did it with my hand. I didn't want to bust up the axle either. I pretty much put the duncan assembly in there and it plays quite nice. I put a FS over one wooden spacer because it cracked. I like the feel because it has the same smoothness as any wooden axle yoyo. It binds fairly tight. Right now it's semi-responsive. If I tug hard it comes back nicely, not in a jumble (don't know if this makes sense). I can still lacerate it beautifully though ( though my lacs are ugly). Anywho, it's really worth the effort to mod a profly and if you're careful, you'll get a nice yoyo. I find a cardboard (playing card) shim behind each spacer makes it play best.

Bearingized Wheels. I've always wanted to mod a wheels. When I heard they're a similar mold to fh1's I knew I ought to try it, seeing as how I started right after the mold broke for numero uno. I finally got one and must say that this is soooo friggin' hard to mod w/o a dremel or other fancy drill. I used a drill bit to make the space for the spacers. I then noticed that the hole was bigger than the spacer and that it didn't fit snug. So when I threw it, it would often get stuck between the bearing and spacer. I switched over to ts parts but they stunk. I thought for a while and decided to make a homemade SPR system. Once again, my plans weren't very good. The yo worked, just not well. I decided Duncan parts would work best seeing as how the yo was, at heart, a duncan. Luckily, I went to the hardware store where I picked up some tread. Not tub tread but pretty similiar. It was less abrasive too. To prevent the string from slipping, I cut out a FS from the tread. It fit after some whittling with a dull exacto. I think I'll try to get a new blade for it some day. Now it plays very nicely. I recently got to throw a FH1 and thought it played nicely. This plays almost as well. I find it's very good for compulsories cause it's responsive but you can gerbil that sucker all you want. Luckily, there's no vibration in the spin despite the crudeness of the project. Hopefully you learned something and can make a better mod than me.

Ya put the drill bit in your hand and just grind away at it. Trial and error my friend. Crude, yes, I know.
