Awesome pun on title... Anyway, lately I have been doubting CLYW. I was looning at buying a CLYW then had an epiphony. Are CLYW's REALLY that good? Or is it just the name and the artwork and not the performance? So I ask you fellow yoers: Is CLWY's performance as good as companies like SPYY or is it just the name and the art?
Are the bassalope and sasquatch a hoax? XP

The Peak and the Avalanche are two of my top 5 yoyos. The older CLYW stuff needed to be tuned to play smoothly, but my experience with the new stuff (I have five new CLYW yoyos) is that they're smoothness is on par with the other top companies. Also, US Nationals last year was won with a Peak. That said, most high end metal yoyos are fantastic, and it really comes down to preference. Your best bet would be to try some out before you buy.
At least 15% of what I say is true.

I hope I did not throw you off with my last post. CLYW's are great yoyos. As you spend more time here I will find out that I am just a clone for SPYY. If you want a CLYW, go for it. Don't let me or anyone else persuade you into getting something if you want to get something else.

People say that yoyos like the genesis and boss (high end yoyofactory's) are better than throws like SPYY's and CLYW's. Do you believe his? Personally I do not because of the quality control issue, but what are your thoughts?

It's really mostly about preference these day. YYFs quality certainly isn't higher than the other companies that have been mentioned in this thread.

I have had a couple of CLYW's.
They are good, but overhyped IMO.
They hit the nail on the head with the gnarwahl, though.Ecell=Ecell(standard)-((RT)/(nF))lnQ

They are overhyped for sure.
They are beautiful, but it's pretty much like driving an Escalade instead of a Suburban; the badge on the grille.Theyo.com: The Final Frontier. To boldly troll where no troll has trolled before...

Gnarwhal. My favorite yoyo... I play my sovereign a bit more right now... but the gnarwhal is still my favorite. Probably will remain such for quite a while.

Three of the yoyo's that are in the top five favorite yoyos I own are all CLYW. I've also never really had a bad experience with them.
