Well I got a sabre raider, then a kickside, and now I use a hitman. What do you think would be the next logical step? I'm not buying right now, but when I do, I want ideas please. Thanks.

project. I just got one of mine today, (from pixelmana) and it rocks sooooo hard.
plus, unlike most metals, it's tunable.

I'd stay away from top end metals as long as possible if I were you. It's easy to get caught up in the buying frenzy and the hype, and then before you know it you're dumping hundreds into new yoyos expecting each one to revolutionize your playstyle. Make no mistake, I love my 888, but I've seen a lot of people buy one and then just... keep buying more they don't need.

In other words, don't think that you need another yoyo beyond the ones you've got. If you must, try out the $30 YYJs until you find the one that fits your taste the best and run with it, maybe buying a high end resembling its shape way down the road.

    Yeah.

    Ok.

    So.

I just got my first metal. And it's been one full year. I'm really glad I stayed plasticy until now. I feel that I've gone so much farther than I would have if I had gotten one sooner.

I don't know when you started, but it seems like you just got a KS like, a month ago. If that's when you've started, it's not a good idea to get on the buying trend early because, you won't be able to stop!

Preference in this case means, basically anything you want. Your Hitman plays as well, in my opinion, as anything on the market. It's my favourite yoyo, and I have numerous more expensive all metal yoyos.

If you choose to go all metal, depending on how long you wait, there may be several new options in the high end range that aren't released yet that you may want to consider. Right now, Yoyofactory, Dif-E-Yo, and SPYY make consistent, solid high end stuff. There are great yoyos from other companies as well, but that is at least a place to start. You could also choose to go with another metal-rimmed YYJ for a bit of variety, like a Speeder, Dark Magic, Mini Motu, or X-Convict. Basically, there is no logical next step at this point. You've already got a very good yoyo, and the differences from here out are pretty much about feel and preference. Just check for reviews of a yoyo before you buy it, and you should be fine no matter what you choose.

    RIP YoMike

Is that a compliment, or saying "Whew good thing he doesn't have a metal; he'd be ten times worse!"?

I can see the argument for getting maybe another metal rimmed YYJ. I really fancied a dark magic, but it was out of stock when was buying, so I got the hitman instead. My friend is getting a dark magic soon, so I can compare them. I'm not sure about the X-con. It's shape looks horrible to hold to me.

first off let me just say i have a HM DM and XCV and i love them all but i'd have to say:
    1.XCV
    2.HM
    3.DM
the shape is actually really compy in the hand and is not sharp feeling at all.

the luchador is another story however, it cuts small children's hands and makes them bleed just get what looks and sounds best to you.

I agree with Yoshi. I got my first metal rimmed in December, my almost second year of yoing. So I know that you don't need metals. At all. (Why don't they make plastics with stacks? =Miracle.)

The metals that are available these days are all really good, there are very few "poor" metals. but rather a few that are for a niche market - minis, really heavy yos (freerider 2 etc)

Anything from YYF, SPYY or Dif-e-yo will play absolutely awesomely for the price. Especially if you hit up the BST.

Depends how much you wanna pay.

yyf should make a yoyo called the 444 and it would be 888 shaped but made out of plastic and have hubstacks
