Do not be tempted by the dark side of the force!
Instead of make a video about why bad videos are bad, why not make one on how to make a good video? You could still include examples of what's not good, but show how they could be made better.
For instance: If you are going to do the same trick more than once, show it from different angles, so that people have a better chance to learn from you.
Or, if you think videos done all in someone's hallway are boring, show an example, and then show it again with something inserted into the background to make it better.

yin let me start with you rock.
But then follow it with... You gotta' learn the background of that video.
it was maid for many reason one of the main ones being how many times jason had to tell people kris bliss sucked, and was a detrament to juggling. (They will all back it up with he is entertaining and has heart.)
Neither mean much in competitive juggling. ;) lol
One of the others is kris bliss preforms some of the easyest tricks there are and poorly, and only rarly on beat. It would be equal to me going and preforming rock the baby, walk the dog and trapeze, very badly and selling my self as one of the top pro yoyoers. (before you say it, I know about matrix dude) that is it.
If you already knew about it cool. if not there you go.
If you still want to make diss video's great go for it.
I would love to see them. diss my video's first please. ;)

I think it would be the best idea to just make a general poke at most of the videos out there, that way your not poking directly at one person. I think you should totally do it, but just make sure your legit and decent in your acts. Remember even if their your friends it can still hurt some times.
Jason Garfield is the Steve Brown of yoyoing, he can make fun of whoever he wants because he has done so much for the community and the sport and no one can argue with that.
Do the video....... but make it a general outlook on yoyo videos as a whole, not individuals that spent time filming and editing it.
Thats my two dollars(thats right, not cents, two pennies are useless and can be overlooked, but two dollars, now thats something).

i think a diss video would be lame.
goin' in on a vid w/ your friends and humoursly critiquin' or makin' a parody of your/their performance is one thing.
but dissin' a vid that you had nothin' to do w/...seems plain mean.
but then again, i still think bio industries bites, so what do i know...

Everyone in the juggling community? I think you are exaggerating slightly. Those disapointed were more along the lines of little kids who think juggling videos should only contain tricks which you can pull off every 20 tries. They seemed to miss the point that this video wasn't made to impress teenagers.everyone in the juggling community was dissapointed he even went to lengths of making it and now the video is on the internet and this is what people think of juggling.
The Bliss Diss video. Then a juggler named Jason Garfield made a Chris (Last name) diss video...
It's entirely 5 ball juggling. No 7, but he does put in a clip of himself from 10 years ago qualifying 10 balls. He basically copied Bliss' routine, but instead of using 3 balls, he used 5.Starting with 5 ball juggling, then going to 7
9 is definitely not the hardest.then ending in the hardest juggling which is 9...
Again, it was mostly Garfield fan boys who loved the video. Many well respected members of the community thought it was in bad taste. Personally I enjoy Jason Garfield's juggling, but I find many of his actions downright childish. This isn't the first 'diss' video he has made. And everyone in the juggling community loved it.
I completely agree, if you're making a video just to make a video, maybe you shouldn't. It's great to actually try and convey something/anything with your video. But if you have about 1:30 of tricks and you do a 3:00 video....cut it off, add some talking do something!!!!
Being a juggler myself, I just wanted to clear a few things up. I had stumbled upon this video a few months before it started making all the email rounds. I didn't think it was all that great, but it also wasn't the worst I've seen, not even close.
Also Chris Bliss isn't even really a juggler, he's a comedian! He just finishes his stand-up routine with some juggling. He never posted this video on any forums trying to get recognition, it was just a promo vid on his website. I think most of the negative comments were from jealous little kids who wished their video had become as popular. I imagine Jason was also a tad jealous.
Why don't you just make a video? It doesn't need to be a 'diss' video.

Whoa whoa let's slow down here....
Now I understand a lot of people are caught of guard by this whole thing but hey....it was just a question....
Wondering because yes I think a lot of people are making videos....
Now it's one thing to come out with a grip of videos in a week or so....I don't mind like I said as long as their is variety...
I do admit in my first video I did my Slack = Love twice but from two different angles....And also I did my Yin Gen in two different Angles...
But when you have one combo and do it the whole video, me perosnally I don't like it...
I understand if it's a "Hey how are my skills video"
But a lot of people aren't doing that....
I think Parodies are hilarious, there have been numerous amounts of times where me and Jake Maloney or some other people at contest throw a trick move the string around frantically slacking it crazy and non-sensical binding it, and then striking a dramatic pose while flexing our muscles a'la JD
But as far as my "Diss Video" goes, it was just a question I figured it happened in the other community and what would happen if we were to do it here....
So I put myself in the drivers seat cause everyone knows I love yo-yoing and I love supporting yo-yoers, so I didn't think I would come under this much heat.
But I do like the comments, and I am sorry to nick grillo that you don't enjoy any of my videos, i will make sure I make an extra effort to impress you on my next one...
AC, look I understand you use the XXL Magnums but come on man how many times are we gonna poke fun at all the small people.
Again, I don't hate any yo-yoer, this was a question, I like how people were discussing, but now the focuss is quite geared towards me...
Again, my apologies if I offened anyone (which I know I didn't cause this wasn't geared towards anyone)
Much love, and still I would like to hear your thoughts...

Parody is a great tool if you know how to wield it properly.
If you actually have to stop and ask "Should I do this?" it's probably because you lack the confidence to simply do it. And a lack of confidence in your idea will translate, and that will prevent the parody from actually being funny.
Comedy is hard work. Much harder than drama, or any other form of entertainment. It requires instincts that most people simply do not have.
I'm all in favor of diss videos, when they are a) made among friends, b) poking fun at a sacred cow, and c) done intelligently enough that they are actually funny.
If you have to ask...don't do it. Besides, you've already killed the surprise.

Yin, I think you're a cool guy, I just am not a huge fan of your style or tricks.
But I look forward to that next video.

Oh snap!

If you succeed in destroying someone's deeply entrenched beliefs using facts and logic, that person won't change his mind but will hate your guts forever.

Appreciate it Yin, but my comment was simply made out of sarcasm. Although I've been planning to make a video for sometime now, I just can't get myself to do it because I feel that all my tricks are outdated

just go for it some people might get the feathers ruffled but it dosent matter really unless you are completly rude about it.
and really when you think about it there was a small "diss" in Mikaal's last video in the begining about people making dumb videos.
