I have recently bought my new metal drifter. I bought it for 25$ at Toys R Us yesterday and I am experiencing some problems. It seems as if my metal drifter is unresponsive. Someone please give me some advice I am getting very frustrated!!!

Metal Drifters do come some unresponsive out of the package, but you should still be able to pull back up with a tug. If it still no go for you, you may need to get some thick lube. This is a good place to get some.

Yes, lube is the key for response.

A bit of 3-in-1 will do, as will Synco Super lube from the hardware store or Radio Shack (same as Yomega brain lube).

If you can't get some lube right away you might try double or triple looping the string around axle as a temporary solution - that should allow you to get the yoyo to come up and down, though it will hinder string tricks. Another option is to learn to "bind."

At least 15% of what I say is true.

Lube is the way to go and you need to learn that bind that Jrod posted. However, after you get the bind down you will probably want that drifter as unresponsive as it can be. Hang in there!
