when I'm contest training i change the string on the yoyo I'm using ever hour... i like when its over tensioned when i practice my slacks and whips, then when i correct my tension and use a new string.. they become soooo effortless

And I had heard that is possible to make strings last longer then normal, and it's pretty simple! You Just need to make a laundry Yes, just wash them in your regular washing machine! After washing they're supposed to be like a new one! I do not know if it works as describe but i think it's worth a shot, what do you think? Anyone ever tried that?

Yes, people have washed string. That will clean it but not restore the spring in the string. My experience is that it weakens it a bit as well.

Wow...so the yoyo flying off the string is a sign of a worn string? I do lots of looping and I undersand that inside looping right-handed or outside looping left-handed untwists the string--so I thought that was why my yo occasionally does this. Every two hours of play, really that frequently? I mean, string is cheap and I've plenty of it...still I've only broken one and it was a brand-new one, must have been defective.

For a stickied topic like this we would expect related posts to be posted here rather than a new topic. For random old topics I think a new topic is better.
