Someone gave me the idea to use trick lists as a motivational tool for my new job teaching kids how to yoyo, so I threw this together. Its hardly a masterpiece artwork, but it took some time and it looks pretty so I figure I should post it.

Its 8 1/2 x 11 so I can print them out in sheets, and then use a hole punch once they have shown me they can do the trick.

I hope it is big enough. I haven't printed one out yet. Haha

I like them! Now how are you going to teach them? All together? Independently? You should really think about that.

Thanks!

Classes will generally be a short demo, some basics, and then some "free time" where people suggest things they want to learn or ask for help on something they are stuck on.
The cards will be handed out to each person, and during free time or after the class can they show me if they can do a trick or not, which is when I will punch them. (The cards, not the kids. Well, maybe..I don't know yet. :])

ROFLROFLROFLROFLROFLROFLROFLROFLROFLROFLROFLROFLRO FLROFL!!!!!!!!!!!! lol. I dunno... you may have to shave the goatee. My dad does demos and came to my brother's school. He was talking about his job, in various different classes. Eight kids said "Could you shave your beard? I don't like it." Or "It's scary" or even "I don't like it." So kids get intimidated by beards. You might need to shave it. I guess they feel like you're too old or cool or something and they don't feel comfortable around you. Is your avatar deflating?

Great fng!!

Just a few tips from my experience with the yo-yo school at my library:

Just make sure you have time for each kid. Sometimes it can be real tough to, but some kids need a little more help than others.

Incentives. ;) After passing a level of the the school give small stuff.. string then build up to cooler stuff.

Have some cheap ProFlys or ProYos for those kids just wanting to try it out.

Have fun! If you aren't, the kids won't. =]

Psh, who learns tricks anymore? What you need to be teaching kids are theories for string manipulation, the importance of originiality and trick substance, making the way you move the yoyo a reflection of your inner self and emotion, and a bunch of other stupid stuff that makes yoyoing seem more important than it really is.

Great job, Drew. It's fantastic to see that you're taking the initiative to teach kids how to learn tricks. I admire that initiative greatly, because I sure don't have the patience to do that. Legit trick learning for the win.
