Does anyone have any experience with these? I really need some good headphones and Grado has always been something I've been interested in. I listen to Flac, Alac and the highest quality mp3 I can find, usually VBR. So yes, I'm thinking about asking for a pair of these for Christmas.
Thanks,

Mainly rock but I do venture into rap and techno/rave when the mood strikes. This would be a gift request so under 100 dollars. Oh, and I don't have an amp and am looking for durable in-ears that I can gently wrap around my ipod and take anywhere.

erm... actually, their IEM line's pretty bad up until the se530, which is still behind the current leader of universals (um3x) in everything but mids in most people's opinions. most peoples opinions. And all but the newest batches have cables that crystallize when you wear them behind your ears, and then crack. However, their new full size line is great. I've tried them all, and they're definitely up there with the best in their price. I even kept the SRH840.
The JVC fx500 has recently been found to be AMAZING for rock and metal. It's really fast, has nice big, natural, punchy bass, and the highs aren't said to suffer any. But it's a bit over your budget...
If you were okay with on ears, I'd say MS1...
I'll keep looking, but the JVCs are much favored over almost anything under them for rock.
And, the RE0 is at $80 now... They're freaking great, used to cost $180, but then the company released a new flagship, and they needed to clear these out. So they've been the preferred IEM at their range for quite a while. However, they're a bit lacking in bass, and their main strength is FANTASTIC highs, so I dunno... They're great all-rounders, but not so much for your stuff specifically.
You could probably find a lot by using the google search on head fi forums. Just make sure the posts are in the last half year or so, because tons of new stuff has come out.
EDIT: D'oh, I forgot the denon c710! people really seem to like it. Might wanna read up on it some. I'd tell you about it if I could, but I haven't heard it yet.

Thos look and sound like they would be just what I'm looking for all-around wise. Price is perfect, too. I asked for those, can my Aunt deliver like she has before?
Where is head-direct.com located? Has anyone ordered from them before? How long did it take for you to get them? It was the only place I saw that had them.
Thanks for all the help, guys. I know I can count on theyo for my headphone advice.

I asked for the Head-Direct RE2 and Fiido E5 combo pack for christmas. According to PyroKid, you can't beat that deal for $40

well, that depends on for what you want If all you want is superalotmuch of bass, then, nope. However, Isaac is intelligent, and understands that there are enjoyable frequencies of music over 100hz, so for that range I'd def. go with this. The RE2s are far ahead of everything else I've tried under $70 with regards to clarity, and the amp will be great, because then you could have either cold and analytical, neutral, or warm, depending on whether you used the amp or what mode it was in. (make sure to burn it in for a while, too.)
I like it more than the next up, ne-6. But if you want more isolation and bass, the ne6 would be the way to go if you didn't mind sacrificing some clarity.
And to Reed, they have a US location. It took three days for my RE0s to come, and all their customer service reviews are great. (They made a new MP3 player, and warned everyone in the pre-order that it would be quite a while before they shipped. When they did ship, they included a free battery for the player. And the battery costs like $50, I think.)
They are the only place that carries them, but they're very trustworthy.
And, just so you know, these are bass-light. They still have nice, defined bass, but it is slightly recessed on the frequency graph. If you're fine with that, then nice choice. I'm incredibly tempted to buy another pair just because the price is so right. They're an incredible value. Plus, they're fairly durable and have a one year warranty, if I'm right.
What is your source, by the way?
and sorry if I rambled/made no sense/offended anyone in some horrific way with bad formatting of this post. I'm tired.

oh, okay. That should be good.
I was just wondering because some sources have a weaker output, and these phones have a rather high impedance.
at least, assuming the computer isn't really quiet?
