Thread: Jared's Easy guide to not being a noob!

I have noticed that the more new players we get here, the more noobs we get. Yes, there is a difference! A newbie, or new player, or new guy, is simply just that, while a noob is a newbie who gets on everybody's nerves. As a matter of fact, you don't even have to be new to be a noob. Some noobs have been around for at least TWO years! In this guide I will try to point out what makes a noob, and how you can prevent yourself from being one!

Noob sign 1: You post pointless, worthless posts that don't even make the seven letter limit, so you write "(seven letters.) Rofllmfaowtflawls!!!1eleven!" There is no point in writing "pm'ed" !!!!!

Prevention: Either do not post, or if you must, at least make something up, it's not that hard to do!


Noob sign 2: You ask which yoyo is better. In the beginning, it is acceptable, well, not really, but maybe the first week. If you ask about which first yo to get, okay, but after that, and you are asking whether to get a duncan, or a yoyojam or which metal to get, then you are being a noob!

Prevention: Don't bother asking! Everybody has their own opinion/preference in certain yo's, and that is exactly what they will tell you! It is always preference. Also, if you MUST once again post asking which yo to get, disguise it. An example of which would be to make a poll asking which yoyo others prefer, or which response/shape, etc. Posts such as this are obviously disguises sometimes, but nobody really minds too much. Just don't over do it!


Noob sign 3: No capitalizing the letter at the beginning of a sentence, and abbreviating words! An example of this would be "omg, teh mst ubor 137 ting hpnd tdy. i was wlkng and i ws liek wow,wht is tht!" Seriously, it should Never be that bad, but use that as an example to steer away from anything like that. This shows that you are too lazy to type correctly or check what you wrote, and tells us that you don't care enough to make it easy for us to read, so you don't really want our help. Most of us here are nice and will try to help you, but there is an extent to what we can, as humans, deem legible.

Prevention: Capitalize all letters that need capitalization, and do not try to be 1337 unless you have been around for awhile and we know that you are joking. Also take the time to write out each word in full, so that we can read it and help you faster. It is not only respectful to us, but it makes us respect you more.


These are just the basics to get you started. Always remember these and abide by them. Nobody likes a noob.
