I sent a package to a guy almost a year ago, and he says the package never arrived.... I find it hard to believe...

It was only the second deal i had ever done over the internet, so i made the mistake of 1st, sending it first, and 2nd, not putting confirmation on it...

Although part of it is my fault, the getting lost isn't... MY question is, things do get lost, but eventaully they do arrive... Correct?

If so, how can I blieve this person when they say it never arrived... Maybe because they saw i didn't put confirmation on it, they say it never arrived and there would be no way of proving it did arrive.

I know it could be worthless to say, but I saw this guy on the another fourm a few days ago, TALKING about barebones and how smooth it is... Well it just so happens I sent a barebones almost a year ago.. And never recieved anything in return...

I'm not trying to say this person stole my yoyo, but seeing that post made me wonder if they really did steal it. With alll this mail fraud going around, I thought i would jump on the bandwagon...

If I should post the persons screen name I will, I just don't want a big meham to break out...

    Thanks

Yeah, mail gets lost from time to time. I've ha it happen a couple of time with bills. Those were paid by check though so I know they never went to the intended party. Never cashed.

At this point there's not a lot you can do about it. It's his word against yours, and you will more than likely come out on the short end of it no matter what you choose to do.

Did you use Priority Mail? I think the chances of it getting lost would be significantly lower if you did, but it's still possible.
Either way, after 30 days I think you can file a report and have the post office look into it, but I'm not sure how much they can do at this point. It's worth asking them about though.

If you have a tracking number you can verify delivery or not. If you don't, you're screwed.

ALWAYS send at least priority mail WITH delivery confirmation. Alternatively, use fedex.

I have had a LOT of stuff go missing using priority and first class USPS mail. I've had things disspear for months at a time and reappear later, and things that never showed up again. I've had international packages that took 6 months to get back to me, after recieving stamps of some sort from many different countries, none of which were the correct one.

I have had packages arrive overseas only to have them obviously opened and things taken from them.

Most of these problems were with USPS, the others with UPS.. I've only had a handful of issues with FEDEX but all were resolved fairly easily and quickly.

You can argue with me, but you'll still be wrong.

AC's tip #114: Tip your mailman. Your packages will get there much more reliably. (and your mailman will go out of his/her way to give you good service) Doesn't take much of a tip to get great service. $10-20/year is just about right.
