This is a rare treat for us here at High Speed YoYo. Brett and I rarely get to give our thoughts on the same yo-yo, and lets be honest here the Cloud 9 is a Cosmo. The only difference between the two is that the Cloud 9 has a bead blast finish to it, giving a frosted glass appearance. Other than that, it has all the same pluses and minuses that the original Cosmo had. Does this new finish give the Cloud 9 a silver lining?

Awesome review! Glad you like the grindage. This yoyo has been my main player for a while now. AND I only have a vibe and wobble-tastic B-grade one!
And I'll have you know that I will be using the Cloud9 next time I compete! :)
Stop worrying about what yoyo you should be playing, and just play yoyo. (pssst I am not Landon)

Spin times aren't the cosmo's strong point. But darn is it a cool yo-yo!

Makes sense to me. I would love to see one of these yo-yos take a title at an event. Landon deserves the recognition for making such a unique and fun to throw yo-yo. It just makes everyone stop and watch when throwing it, i could see it being great for performances as well.

Landon's yo is undeniably sexy, but there is a high degree of service that goes with it. I recently scored a cosmo off of onedrop and immediately loved it. That is until my fourth or fifth throw when the bearing got a little wily. It sounded like the string got caught between the bearing and the seat. After a brief email dialogue with Mr. Balk, he more than rectified my problem. Besides, it looks like a freakin' glass yoyo! It's just sooo gnarly!
Maybe we'll be treated to a real new model soon.

Just a note, each of his yo-yos are turned by hand. As in all the dials on a lathe are turned by hand. So even someone like himself who has lots of skill does have a degree of error, which is why I believe this yo-yo is really cool. It has a home made feel to it.
Compared to a CNC machine which will punch out yo-yos consistently by a push of a button to a tolerance of how ever many thousandths, his work is pretty darn good.
